Cashmere Jackie

Cashmere Jackie 2010
Full Length Sweater Design

In 2007 LaRece Construction began reconstructing cashmere sweaters to explore the potential of giving new life to discarded clothing. All of my designs are constructed using a discontinued and restored commercial sewing machine manufactured from a design that dates back to the 1870’s. This method of construction and finishing is my own proprietary creation.

Black & White Cashmere Jackie 2011

This custom cashmere sweater is reconstructed from a family collection of sweaters purchased in the 1940’s from the Marshall Fields department store in Chicago. The sweaters were cut and reassembled with hand painted merino yarn in an abstract pattern. The design emphasis in this piece was to create a color fade from top to bottom.

Pumpkin Cashmere Jackie 2010

This custom cashmere sweater is reconstructed from a family collection of sweaters purchased in the 1940’s from the Marshall Fields department store in Chicago. The sweaters were cut and reassembled with hand painted merino yarn in a pattern of color squares connected with strips of black to connect the very challenging colors.

A Custom Cashmere Jackie base price is $1,200.00 when the client provides the sweaters. LaRece Construction is happy to source sweaters for an additional $200.00. The above Cashmere Jackie is a Small/Medium. Custom sizes are available for an additional $300.00.

All LaRece Constructions are One Of A Kind and are available by custom order. Email LaReceConstruction@gmail.com to order.
